Quezon City launches a connected approach to hepatitis care
Quezon City marked the launch of its hepatitis B and C model of care with free screening and counseling.
Quezon City launched its hepatitis B and C model of care on 20 August 2025, with free screening and counseling at City Hall as part of its World Hepatitis Day activities.
The activity was led by the Quezon City Health Department and the Office of the City Mayor, in partnership with StITCH. Residents could access testing while learning about the city’s approach to hepatitis services.
The model connects screening with the steps that follow: counseling, further assessment, treatment when indicated, and continuing monitoring. Frontline facilities work with referral hospitals and laboratory services so patients can move through an agreed care pathway.
The Quezon City service blueprint includes entry points for the general population, pregnant women, and key populations. It also sets out specialist referral for complicated cases and ongoing engagement to help people stay connected to care.
The launch introduced this connected approach to the public, alongside an opportunity to take the first step through screening.
