Quezon City health teams review the journey from hepatitis testing to care

Health workers and partners reviewed hepatitis services on 6–7 May, focusing on follow-up, referral coordination, and facility experience.

Quezon City health workers and StITCH partners came together on 6–7 May 2026 to review how hepatitis B and C services were working across participating facilities.

The Program Implementation Review focused on the steps after screening: helping people return for assessment, coordinating referrals, and supporting patients to stay in care. Teams also reviewed program data and shared the practical challenges they encounter at their facilities.

The UPM Liver Study Group supported the activity with the Quezon City Health Department and international partners, including Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the Partnership for Health Advancement in Viet Nam, with support from Gilead Sciences.

The discussions used StITCH’s “5 Rights” framework: the right care, at the right time, in the right place, by the right team, and in the right way. This keeps attention on the patient’s experience alongside the numbers reported by facilities.

Lessons from these reviews contribute to the ongoing development of practical guidance for local hepatitis services.
