Quezon City health workers learn together about hepatitis care
Nearly 70 health workers from Districts 2 and 5 joined a two-day session on hepatitis B and C case management.
Nearly 70 Quezon City doctors, nurses, midwives, medical technologists, and community health workers joined a hepatitis case management session on 3–4 June 2026, organized by StITCH Philippines and the Quezon City Health Department.
For District 2 teams, the session was a refresher after a year of delivering services. For District 5 colleagues, it was an introduction as the city prepared to extend hepatitis services to more facilities.
Participants worked through hepatitis B and C cases, including treatment eligibility, HIV co-infection, care during pregnancy, and referral for specialist support. Learning together gave newer teams an opportunity to hear from colleagues already applying the care pathways.
One practical feature of the city’s approach is specimen transport: when patients need further testing, blood samples can move through the health department’s network rather than requiring patients to travel between facilities.
The session also looked ahead to continuing specialist support through case-based telementoring and follow-up for patients who need further assessment.
