StITCH shares primary care lessons with DOH hepatitis trainers

StITCH contributed sessions on its model of care, hepatitis B computer-based training, and telementoring to the DOH Training of Trainers.

StITCH joined the Department of Health’s Training of Trainers on Viral Hepatitis Management on 10 September 2026 at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel.

The team contributed two sessions: one on the StITCH people-centered model of care and another introducing hepatitis B computer-based training and telementoring.

The model-of-care session drew on the project’s experience in Tarlac and Quezon City, where local health teams connect screening with assessment, treatment, and continuing care. The emphasis was on sharing implementation experience that other settings can consider alongside their own needs and resources.

The second session introduced approaches for supporting frontline providers beyond a single training event. Computer-based learning provides structured hepatitis B content, while case-based telementoring connects health workers with specialist support for ongoing clinical learning.

Together, the sessions brought service delivery and workforce development into the conversation on strengthening hepatitis care.
