Public Health and Policy
Translating liver research into policy, health equity strategies, hepatitis elimination, and Universal Health Care implementation.
This cross-cutting research area leads knowledge translation, health equity analysis, and policy engagement across the UPM Liver Study Group’s work. It supports alignment of liver research with national priorities, including viral hepatitis elimination, PhilHealth benefit package reforms, Universal Health Care implementation, and integration of liver services into primary care and public health programs.
Key activities include equity analysis of hepatitis B and C prevalence, cost-effectiveness modeling of screening and treatment strategies, and engagement with policy stakeholders to support research uptake. Its outputs include policy briefs, peer-reviewed publications, and dissemination forums for DOH, LGUs, academic partners, and other stakeholders.
